To coincide with the launch of EcoArts Australis, the Armidale Tree Group and the University of New England collaborated on an exhibition of art that celebrated the natural environment of the New England Tablelands, in northern New South Wales. The event took place in October 2010 and featured the work of 20 visual artists, including sculptors, painters and print makers. The event took place in the Michael O’Keeffe Woodland Education Centre of the Armidale Tree Group, a mudbrick and passive solar building that was built as a community resource and to promote and educate the public about woodland ecology. The Armidale Tree Group has a strong commitment to using the arts as a means of educating and celebrating the natural environment of the woodlands of region.
